REMARKS: Although Kury (2016) placed Gyas in the Sclerosomatidae, the species is here listed in Phalangiidae for several reasons. First, Gyas, Amilenus and Dicranopalpus from a well supported groupsubfamily Gyantinae from the morphological perspective (e.g., Martens 1978). Second, a recent molecular phylogeny (Hedin et al. 2012) shows that Gyas is not part of Sclerosomatidae. This view is also adopted in the forthcoming Red List of Germany.
